The Business of Making Games

Which points do you need to address to suceed in the world of work for hire? This short book can help you structure your thoughts about building a game studio into a business.

The Business of Making Games is a run-through of typical business models and strategic positions for digital game producers. The book is re-issued on the IDSU website after having been originally issued under the auspices of the RegioStar-winning EU-project Scandinavian Game Developers, which funded the writing of the book through the Kattegat-Skagerrak Interreg funds. The book is authored by Mikkel Lodahl (IDSU) and Emil Kjæhr (formerly of The Animation Workshop, now Funday Factory) and was edited by Björn Berg Marklund (University of Skövde). IDSU is re-issuing the book to make it more widely accessible and because the insitute is issuing a follow-up book contaning business cases later this year.
